Answered and it was voice recording saying the IRS was suing me and I should call some number to get more info. Ignored it.

Call them back and mess with them---tell them that you were not aware that they had an IRS office in India. Be sure to call him Swami--he gets really mad at that!!

Same as above, scam IRS call. Tried to get me to wire $1000. I've called them back 17 times so far and I'm not done yet. I spoke gibberish and she'll have a gibberish conversation with you. This is going to be a fun 24 hours.

I got one of those calls from an Oregon area code. I called back, got same pakistani sounding accent so hung up.

Then i looked up and called IRS Internal Fraud hotline and explained to the nice lady at IRS what'd just happened. I suggested oit might be a feather in her cap if she'd alert somebody in security, sueely they have friends in nSA who could track down the call's origin.
That was Tuesday morning.
On Friday afternoon's TV news was a brief segment - they busted a guy in Portland for IRS telephone scam. As agents marched him toward the black Suburban a reporter asked him something. Same Pakistani accent.

I like to think we got one .
